What are the top paralegal specialties in the Los Angeles area?
Im current a paralegal student in LA. Will be graduating next spring. I would like to do a couple of internships to gain experience. And wonder what’s the most common specialty in the paralegal field. I do want to work for a big law firm.

Congratulations on your soon to be paralegal degree. You will find many opportunities. It is a great idea to find an internship or even a part-time job at a government agency or law firm in the meantime. It will give you an insight into the legal business and provide a chance to try out a few areas of the law to see if they interest you.
I am guessing your school will have some information on firms or agencies looking for students to work as interns for example. So, start there. Also, the Daily Journal, the LA based legal newspaper, posts many jobs and opportunities as well. Check that out.
I worked in both the private sector and for a government agency, and in my experience, there is not one area of the law which uses paralegals more than others, necessarily. In that regard, if during your studies you become, or have become, interested in a particular area of the law, focus on trying to find a position in that specialty. Though even if you can't, an internship in any field will be worthwhile.
