new cool way to memorize quickly

#pharmacy #pharmd

Thank you comment icon Learn what kind of a learner you are. Broad categories are auditory, visual, and kinesthetic. Chegg (has a tool to determine this if you need: https://www.chegg.com/play/student-life/quiz-what-type-of-learner-are-you/) I am a visual learner, and cannot remember things when someone verbally tells me. So, flash cards work well, writing stuff multiple times helps, etc. A friend of mine is an auditory learner, she records herself narrating things to remember and listens to it on headphones, creating lame songs with it helps, etc. Find what things you remember very well and why. Figure out what works for you the best :) Juhi Patel

Dinah’s Answer

I am currently a second year pharmacy student and sometimes we have to memorize important and pertinent information. Somethings that really helped me and that can possibly help you is:

1. Making Quizlet flashcards
2. Actually hand writing your notes in colored pens
3. Mnemonic devices or acronyms
4. Visualizing the information
5. Revisiting the information
6. Spaced repetition
7. Study for 25-30 minutes and then take a break

These really help, especially if you are having trouble retaining information or if you have difficult exams coming up.

Abdul Vaajid’s Answer

  1. Quizlets
  2. Record your lecture (if you have a MacBook pro or a laptop you use to type notes there are software you can install to record lecture and listen to them later with the discretion of the speaker).
  3. Also a trick to memorize quickly is take small breaks in the middle of study session to let your mind absorb the info and try to recollect it, if you keep forgetting an important info you can go back and take look at it again.
  4. Breakdown you study material in a more simple language and attach relatable terms to complicated words.
  5. My memorization number is 3, I need to go over the material atleast 3 times to successful download the info in my brain.

Dan’s Answer

One method I used was by trying to make small stories or anecdotes for medications. Trying to remember the weird things and finding a fun way to incorporate that information into the class or name of the drug.
