Hi Neeraj,

Congratulations, on completing your CCNA. CCNA is the starting point. I would recommend you to study more about different areas that you would like to explore. There is so much in networking that you can do. find your passion,find out your interests. There are a lot of things to explore, like routing and switching, voice, video, security, firewalls, data center. Read up about different choices available and then choose from the next level of the certification you would like to pursue.

Also, once you are sure of the field, why not try a job at Cisco itself, you have completed the certification, continue the hard work and maybe you can land up in the networking giant itself.

Suresh’s Answer

Start with a support job if possible where you get a chance to troubleshoot real world networking problems and then you can move to whichever line you are interested in like a software developer , tester or system engineer

**This was posted a while back but i'd still like to answer for others.

CCNA is entry level certification that covers intro to networking - this means everyone does this;

I would recommend if you like networking then you should go for but CCNP - difficulty level would be high but so would the salary!! And after that chose your specialization and peruse Expert level - in few years.

Type keyword CCNA or CCNP in job portals see which companies offer jobs and what is the salary, the job description will tell you what all you should know to become eligible .

At Entry Level you'd get into jobs which requires lots of monitoring and regular network issues, but you'd need to cover basics before moving into further roles and build your experience and expertise in subject matter; and once you have selected your interest area of network/technology - then go for it.

TIP - Your carrier objective should be to learn and become expert in a subject matter as soon as possible for eg. firewall, VNP or something else that interests you.
