What are some good schools should I look forward to in becoming a lawyer or working into the goverment?

Yale in Connecticut, Harvard in Massachusetts and Stanford in California are the top three law schools In the country. Where would you like to live while you are in law school? Do you want to go away, or will you stay closer to home?

In Florida, the University of Florida is best, followed by Florida State University, Florida International University, Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, and Florida Coastal University.

I graduated form Stetson University College of Law in Gulfport, Florida where I received a fine legal education. Stetson is not even in the top 150 law schools, but it is highly renowned in the locals as producing very good trial advocates.

You have a long time to go before deciding where to attend law school. For now I would focus on your schoolwork and other activities that you enjoy. Where you attend college may end up having a bigger impact on your life than where you attend law school, so I would start with thinking about college.
Many people attend law school only to discover that it wasn't what they thought it would be, and they end up dropping out. Being a lawyer can be very stressful at times, so be sure it's what you want. You can go to court and observe how it works to get an idea of that kind of lawyering job. Maybe a family friend is a lawyer and would be willing to let you observe a day in the office.
Beyond that, I suggest you attend the best school that you can afford. Depending on the kind of lawyer you want to be (and there are many different specialties) a local or regional school may be the best fit for you. It does you no good to attend an expensive school only to start your adult life with tens of thousands of dollars of debt hanging over you.

Every year around this time a magazine called U.S. News & World Report publishes a list of all law schools in the country and it ranks them based on a number of different criteria (such as, how hard it is to get into the school, the number of students who go there that get a job as a lawyer after graduation, etcetera). Google that list and try to get into one of the top 25 law schools on that list and you should be able to get a good job in a law firm or the government if you get good grades. Sometimes the school rankings change a little from year to year but usually the top schools stay in the top.

Try to avoid the schools that are at the bottom of the list because you will have a harder time getting a good job because there are a lot more lawyers out there now than there are good jobs for them and law school costs a lot of money. Many lawyers can't get jobs in the law anymore so make sure the law is something you really want to go into.

Another thing to consider is becoming a paralegal, which you can get into with a college degree and no law school. If you like that then that might help you to get into a better law school and if you don't like being a paralegal you may not like being a lawyer.
