A Dermatologist's salary is between @250,000 and $450,000 per year

With any job or occupation, you should consider the entire compensation package, not just salary. Additionally, there are many different positions within any field. There are doctors, assistants, pharmaceutical sales, etc. There are several websites, such as Glassdoor (and others), that may assist you in your research for specific locations and positions. www.glassdoor.com

Hi Andrea,
good for you for wanting to help people and also relating to them. As with any career field, you should research what is the median salary range. Keep in mind that geographic location plays a big part in salaries also because the cost of living can be much higher in some areas of the country. You can go to www.careeronestop.org and can put in a occupation and a related zip code to get more info.

Good luck!

Rachel’s Answer

As a physician, annual salary can be highly variable. It depends on whether you work in private practice or in academia. It also depends on your patient population. If you are in private practice and get paid by how many patients you see, then years of experience and developing a reputation in the community will allow for higher volume and a pay increase. In academia, payment may be based on years working for the institution, research, etc.
