Corey’s Answer

I am not sure exactly what you are asking, but I think I understand it as, You don't know whether to specialize in graphic design or animation.

I believe it will come down to how you want to sell yourself to potential employers after your course. Graphic designers learn different programs than animators. They will learn "Auto CAD," and "InDesign," in schools other than the one I go to, they learn software like "Corel." Animators will have to learn "ToonBoom," "Maya," and "3DS Max." We all learn "Photoshop," "Illustrator," and "After Effects." Try to learn which direction you want to go early in your degree and don't be mad if you cannot get an A in all your classes. If you are outstanding in one certain program, then keep to it, no matter what pressure you get from the teachers, students, and administration. I have just a few months left to go to graduate and I wish I would of stuck to 2D ToonBoom, but I picked 3D and it is too late for me to return to 2D.

I'm not sure of expenses where you are in India, but at my college they are the same for each program.
