Hi Rakesh ,

You have a few options
1. Be a professor at University, but this is a demanding job as it involves you constantly doing research in your area of specialization . You will require PhD . Very good salary if you are the top University .
2. Be a teacher at School , you need at-least a Masters to do this job.
3. Work for a corporate company and be a trainer for a particular technology. You will only require a Bachelors Degree. You will get paid very well if your area of expertise is highly in demand .
4. Work at a retail store that sells hardware / software .You may require a Bachelors Degree. In this case you will have more interaction with people .

Hope this helps
Thanks

Jonathan’s Answer

Jobs that involve some amount of teaching people about computers start with becoming a teacher, and then choosing which kinds of people you want to teach. That last one is the tricky thing, because its not just about age, but motive.

You have this vision of you standing before people, teaching them about computers. Why are they there learning about this? Are they students and they kind of have to be there? Are they people who are paying for an education to learn a trade so they can get a better job? Is it a person in a store who is trying to buy a computer? Or maybe it's the CTO of Goldman Sachs and he's thinking about building his own operation system (again) and he needs to talk to one of the smartest people on the planet in terms of computer hardware (you?) to get a sense for what kind of things he should be factoring in to future plans.

Depending on the kind of teaching that works for you, here are some jobs where you will spend a lot of your time teaching people about computers:

  • Retail clerk at any store that sells computers, like the Apple Store, etc
  • Teacher of a computer class in some kind of children's school
  • Teacher of a computer class for some kind of adult school, probably a college or vocational school
  • Trainer for some large company, responsible for teaching groups of employees how to use their computers and software
  • Marketing, sales, or business development for a technology company that sells new technology that requires some education in the sale

I also felt like I wanted to be a teacher, and was more interested in learning and teaching people about technology than anything else. So I started selling technology; the kind that was new enough that people needed to learn about it before they bought it. I've been teaching people about computers for my whole career, and it's been a lot of fun. In my area, being a teacher of children doesn't pay as well as it should and wouldn't support the kind of lifestyle I wanted. Being a technology salesperson allowed me to meet both goals.
