What is the difference between criminal justice and criminology?

Criminal justice focuses on how the system responds to crime (policing, courts, and corrections) while criminology focuses on why crime happens, studying behavior, psychology, and social patterns. If your goal is law school, you can major in either, but many future lawyers choose broader analytical majors like Political Science, History, or Philosophy because they strengthen reading, writing, and argument skills.

Lupita, criminology is like a track or topic within the criminal justice. You may choose criminal justice and political science as an undergraduate and then choose criminology as your area of study in grad school and after that go into law school.
