What are the job possibilities that one could get with a BS Biology degree with a minor in business?

I am currently an incoming freshman undergraduate student pursuing a biology degree from the honors program at my university. I am on plan to be a business minor along the way and I was wondering if I could combine both of those expertise for a job/business?

Hello, my advice for this is, as a student in the major of biology if you are not thinking to do a phd, medicine or other professional studies after your undergrad, you can pursue a career as a biology teacher, work in any wildlife industry, labs, but to be honest is not that much with a Biology degree! Combining Biology and Business is a weird combination but you can think in pursue a company that can relate Biology and businesses will help you to improve the company! For instances, profit organization, or any company that can have any topic or any source of biology on it!

Jesennia recommends the following next steps:

Research about organization of Biology related!

Hi Jessenia,
I think it's a great choice for the exact reason that it is an unusual combination. A lot of pharmaceutical companies across the world hire people like you for that exact reason, a basic knowledge of science but also a sense of business. Make sure to get great marks on your undergraduate degree and pick the hard courses in biology so you have an understanding of the futures cutting edge biology topics. Then apply for a trainee program at a pharmaceutical company.
Alternatively, you could work in the PR public relation segment of larger science institutes or associations. They all need to handle money, grants, stipends etc. As a basic biologist you could be part of an interdisciplinary business team in these institutions combining knowledge of what scientists really need for optimal thrieving while keeping the business/institution aloft.
To sum up, at the end of the road you will most likely be somewhat of a project manager in large companies or institutions you can make a great career out of that!
If you love biology more than business as you continue your studies, then you must follow your passion and go all the way including some time spent internationally, which is really easy to organize. Come to Europe, everyone speaks English here, especially in research labs and it is relatively easy to get a stipend and a cheap place to live.
Either way, you'll do just fine.
Maybe my CV can give you a lesson about how life happens while you're busy making other plans: I studied molecular biology, left one semester short of my graduate degree to study medicine. While in medschool missed research and had to earn money so I started as a mini-job research student. From that lab I started a PhD in parallel to medical school. Got pregnant at the end of medical school just before graduation. Used maternity leave time to publish my PhD results. In the mean time, while having a total of three children, completed my specialisation as a pediatric consultant. Twelve years after graduating from medical school I joined the pharmaceutical industry working on gene therapy for children with rare diseases. I loved every step of my career and each part made me better and more successful at the next part.
So start out with what interests you most because passion will be your best guide to be successful.
Be daring!
Best wishes from Berlin, Germany
