Hi Joey,

It is important to answer all the questions completely without any errors or typos; so proofreading and having somebody else double check it is a good idea. Essays are the best way to distinguish yourself as part of the application. Remember to use your own voice and back up general statements with examples to make your essay more vivid. One trick I recommend is to ask yourself f the question why, after a general statement. Then ask yourself why a few more times for each response....that may help you uncover the root behind your statement and help you make your essay more powerful. Good luck!

Best,
Reva

Great answer there. It's incredibly important to ensure that your application doesn't have any grammatical or mechanical mistakes, because you want to present yourself as someone who clearly understands the value of clear written communication, especially to an admissions counselor who has never met you in person. The more personal you make your essay, the more you'll stick out from the crowd and get someone's attention. Write about yourself in a way that no one has ever heard or would ever expect. You're unique - show them!

Best of luck!
