[closed] How do you get reliable results when you want to achieve a management goal, such as completing a project in a week?

Hello,

I am an active person, and I would like to start a new fitness goal of obtaining some arm muscles. I figured that I would start by making a plan of how to achieve it, and then writing the small steps to achieve my goals down in a journal, similar to how businesses plan their success out purposely. How do I ensure that any efforts to stay hydrated and eat properly are going towards my goal. How do I ensure that I do not waste any of my time or energy doing this? I have heard that it is important o exercise safely and to get advice from those who have been there and done it successfully.

In appreciation,

Pamela’s Answer

Start by defining a SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time based) Goal, then ask yourself what is happening right now - are you doing anything?, Also explore what you have done in the past and how that worked out for you. Once you know this, ask yourself if your SMART Goal in still realistic. If it is, then continue, if not adjust it. Now look at what you would tell yourself to do to attain this goal - write down a couple of options. Select the best one for you. Explore what might get in the way of achieving this and how you might overcome that. Now you are ready for action. Break your goal down into daily or weekly or monthly targets. Make sure you track your progress and reward yourself when you have achieved a target.
Part of setting this all up should also be to ask some subject matter experts on exercise and nutrition for advice.
