Damien’s Answer

I assume you are looking to be a software engineer with the tag of 'software'. This is a fairly broad question and there isn't really any specific 'right' path you must take.

To give a generic answer, I would say that you need to find courses that deal with Data structures, Algorithms, Software Design, and Programming. You might be able to find local courses in your area for this topic. If you are looking for a light introduction to generic to programming, I had used Code Academy in the past and it does seem to have some pretty useful courses: https://www.codecademy.com

Karim’s Answer

Engineers need to be good at maths and sciences as it is applied to a number of different engineering issues.

As well as good grades in mathematics and sciences engineering also requires hands-on experience; and an understanding of innovation principles, processes, design and society.

The good news is that whatever your interests at school, there is probably a branch of engineering that will match your desires and interests.

For example, a bio-engineer working on the engineering of biological systems would need a good understanding of biology.

By choosing science, technology, and maths you are most likely to widen your options later in life rather than narrow them.
