Do I need up to 9hrs of sleep to get through college

People tell me the more sleep the better but I really don't get much sleep. Im always late to bed early to rise because i like studying at night but need to get up early for practice so sleep doesn't come when needed. #help #time-management #sleeping

Wael’s Answer

You need between 7 and 8 hours of sleep at your age. Lack of sleep in the long term would cause permanent damage to your brain. In other wards, don't take this matter lightly. Try to tailor your sleep schedule to your needs. If you study at night and you have to get up early, take naps during the day. Yes, it won't be as good as having a uninterrupted sleeping session; however, it would give your brain the rest it needs.

Maribel’s Answer

The average adult body can function productively on 7 hours of sleep. However, if getting 9 does not interfere with getting your school work done, getting to class on time, and does not take away from your daily routines, then by all means get those 9 hours

You need at least 8. You have to set a routine for yourself and stick to it for the most part. Once you get into the groove of a routine it will be much easier for you to manage your time and have enough time for everything you need to do (including relaxing). Make yourself to-do lists on a weekly basis, use Google calendar or a planner to keep track of events, deadlines, and due dates. In addition to setting a routine and sticking to it, plan out relaxing activities into your day. Or set aside a time, after everything is done for the day, that you can have "me" time. I have also personally found it essential to not only find time for myself but also make use of that time in a way that is best for me and my holistic wellness. I have found the HeadSpace app to be an essential tool in helping me relax and generally feel more relaxed throughout the day, Guided meditation, even if you have a busy schedule, will make you feel more at ease and relaxed throughout the day as a whole (not just when you have the time to relax and focus on that "me" time).
