Keith’s Answer

Jaiden - There are many careers that pay very well. It really depends on what you choose and how hard you work to be the best at. You shouldn't be confined to an area for your interest. You have to be willing to give something to get something. Meaning, it may require you to relocate more than one time to get to the end state you desire. It may require you take a lesser job to give you an opportunity to ascends into the role you desire. If may require you to give time away from family and friends, to dedicate yourself to being atop the industry you select.

It is not an easy road. There is NO easy road. Whatever that road...best of luck to you.

Betty’s Answer

Hi Jaiden, there are many professions that pay quite well in the SF Bay Area. That being said, your salary may depend on how well you perform your job, your experience, your ability to network and collaborate with others, good communication and making good decisions. Working for yourself has perks but also risks especially when the economy is bad. Working for a company can be a safer bet, and tech companies pay stock options that could bump up your total compensation. Here's the list of highest paying professions (not in any particular order).

1. Doctors and dentists
2. Attorneys
3. CEOs, CTOs, CMOs, CFOs, etc.
4. Anesthesiologists
5. Construction company owners
6. Investment property owners
7. Realtors
8. Investment bankers and hedge fund managers
9. Venture capitalists
10. software engineers

Johnny’s Answer

Hi Jaiden,

I agree with Keith, it depends on what your interests are and where they lead you. Life will take you many different places you never thought it would and it is all part of the experiences ahead of you. If you are real interested in staying local initially however, Silicon Valley is close by and there are a lot of tech companies in the Bay Area but overall there are a lot of businesses in that area you should have a lot of options.

Disha’s Answer

Hi,

Bay area has a variety of companies ranging from Technology companies, Finance Consultancies, also lot of Medical companies. Bay area being an expensive state pays comparatively more than other states. So you can pursue any job field based on your interests and experience. You will be paid based on your skill set and expertise in any of the fields mentioned above. So if you are good at something, you will be paid accordingly.

Thanks,
Disha
