How long does it take to become a nurse? Also what classes would i have to take?

I was a Nursing major originally before I completely shifted directions and changed majors in college. I had completed 3 clinical semesters but like the others above noted the length of program will depend on the type of program you are enrolled in:
-Some schools offer Associate Degree RN programs which can take 20 months part time
-There are the traditional 4 year programs for Bachelors in Science Nursing
-Accelerated BSN which is an intensive program that takes 12 consecutive months
-There are also accelerated programs for those who already have a bachelors degree can be completed in 16 months full time

There are a good number of schools offering nursing degrees, but as anything else, it depends on the school and the degree. A Bachelor's is usually 3-4 years depending if you can accelerate it and take more classes per semester.
You may need to do a research in your area to find out. Also, keep in mind that there are specialties offered for nursing, and that adds up to the courses and also to the skills set you will have, therefore helping with the salary

There are several types of nurses and depending on which one you choose, you could go to college anywhere from 1 years to 4. If you want to be a LVN (Licensed vocational nurse) you can typically do it within 1-2 years, if you are looking to be an RN (Registered Nurse), it will take closer to 4.
