How do I become a fashion designer for like models or movies or just in general? I don't know how to start my career and get other people in the world to see my designs, how do I show my designs?

I love clothes and shoes and creating outfits in general and when I get older if acting doesn't work out for me I want to become a fashion designer. #fashion #design #fashion-design

It is so exciting you are interested in Fashion Design. The best route is to study and learn how to create beautifully constructed clothing. With this knowledge you can design anything. I went through the Fashion Institute of Technology route. There are also trade schools.

Finding work is all about networking and being able to showcase your designs. Social media and linked In is an effective way to meet models, photographers, makeup artists and other artists. Usually they will need designers for their portfolios and photographers will need models and designers. This mutual relationship can help when everyone is starting out. From your first photoshoot you will learn what you can do better and improve your skills.

The fashion world is all about networking. Media companies usually work with people who come with their own teams. People usually get on them through networking. Reach out on social media and be genuine. Be polite and hopefully they will see your profile and keep you in mind if they need another person on their crew. Also apply for the jobs posts on LinkedIn, StyleCareers etc. It can be tedious but I know a lot of people who have gotten work this way.

It is hard and people will ghost you or not be interested. Keep at it and continue to work on yourself. GOOD LUCK :)

Learn how to sew through YouTube tutorials! Selling your designs on depop, Instagram, tik tok, etc. is a great way to build a following. Also make a LinkedIn page for yourself and follow your fav designers, brands, fashion magazines, etc. You can also join groups on LinkedIn for aspiring fashion designers, which will help build your network in the fashion industry.
