Thank you for your question. From my experience, college days is one of my most memorable period in my life. You can make a lot of friends and will learn a skills and knowledge that is essential for your lifetime.
Below are my suggestions:
1. Be open minded and optimistic
2. Join the orientation program organized by the college and faculty. This can help you to familiarize the environment and start making friends
3. Explore the recreational clubs available and join the one you have interested
4. Stay in the dorm if possible. You will know a lot of hallmates
5. After the academic year starts, you will work with different classmates on different projects. This is also another good opportunities to make more friends.

Hey there! It's completely normal to feel a little anxious about starting college, but there's no need to worry! College is an amazing opportunity to make new friends and create unforgettable memories. To build your social circle, make sure to immerse yourself in the college experience. Keep an eye on your college's events calendar and attend exciting events in your community. If sports are your thing, gather your team spirit and head to the games to meet fellow enthusiasts. Don't be afraid to discover and explore your new surroundings, as it's a fantastic way to bond with others.

Another great way to make friends is by seeking on-campus job opportunities or starting a study group. This way, you can connect with people who share your interests and dedication to academics. And if Greek life appeals to you, joining a fraternity or sorority can provide a lifetime of friendships and support. Remember, you have an incredible journey ahead of you, and there's a whole world of people just waiting to be your friend! Embrace the excitement and dive right in!

This question really depends on your college experience. Assuming you’ll be living on campus i would say to get involved early in clubs. So much comes at you that first week from dorm mates to the school activities fair where you get to see all the clubs on campus. This is the opportunity to find individuals with similar interests as you . Also you’ll meet people to study with as you take classes.

Hello Candy!

Making friends is tricky for some people, or easy for others, even if they went to a public/private school.

Here are my suggestions!

First, determine whether you will live on campus or off campus. Your proximity to your school may affect your social life & approaches for making friends.

As a student, some general suggestions regardless of living situation:
- Join clubs & organizations! You can make great friends with people that have similar interests, or similar backgrounds.
- Build connections with classmates. Start off with small-talk (example: compliment a classmate, or talk about your thoughts about the professor or homework).

As a student on-campus:
- Attend events hosted by residential advisors (RAs) in your hall.
- Attend events on campus! Sports games, choir/band performances, etc can provide fun ways to connect with people. Also, your campus might have a central "hub" area where students can do things.
- Talk to people that live on your floor.

As a student off-campus:
- Go to events in your area! A town might offer different things, such as outdoor activities, cafe concerts, art galleries, film festivals, or parties.
You can find things to do on sites such as Eventful or AllEvents.in
- Come to the library. While it's a quiet place, you could meet new friends there and decide to host study groups with people from your classes.

Lastly, never feel afraid to express your authentic self! As long as you be yourself and friendly, you'll find good-quality friends.

Sending you good luck as you make friends in college! :)

Hey Candy! 😊 Here's how you can make friends in college and have a blast:

1. Don't miss those orientation events! They're designed for new students to mingle and get to know each other. Plus, it's the perfect time to connect with fellow newcomers.

2. Look into cool clubs and organizations that pique your interest. It's a surefire way to meet like-minded people who share your passions. Don't be afraid to venture out and explore new interests, either!

3. Embrace group projects in class. They're not only helpful for learning, but also fantastic opportunities to bond with your classmates and collaborate.

4. Be your friendly, approachable self! Flash those smiles, maintain eye contact, and strike up conversations. Showing genuine interest in getting to know someone can go a long way.

5. Remember, it's okay to ask for help! If you're having a tough time with a class or need advice, reach out to classmates or professors. It's not only helpful, but also a great conversation starter.

Happy friend-making! 😄

Hey there Candy! 😊 It's awesome that you're looking for ways to make friends during college. Don't worry, you're definitely not alone in this journey. Many college students are on the lookout for new friends too, so just keep that in mind!

I've got a few friendly tips that might help you and others out:

1️⃣ Living on campus? Great! Keep an eye out for campus events like orientation activities, dorm events hosted by RA's, sports, or student organization performances. Colleges usually have a "Student Union" where both on and off-campus students can gather and connect with others.

2️⃣ If you can, join clubs or organizations that interest you. This is an amazing way to meet other college students who share your passions and make new friends.

3️⃣ Chat with your classmates! Whether it's during group projects or just casual chit-chat before or after class, getting to know the people you're studying with is a great way to make connections.

4️⃣ Remember to stay positive and keep an open mind! Embrace new experiences and you never know who you might meet. 😄

Wishing you the best of luck in making new friends!

Dear candy
That is a very important question. Colleges can be big and stressful during the first semester or even the first year. Having good friends to support you is a smart move. Remember, the other students are also looking for friends.

I believe one way to make friends is to join various clubs and student organizations that pique your interests and hobbies. Most colleges have a dedicated office for student activities and organizations. The name of the office might vary from one university to another, but they all have it. This office has a list of student organizations and their contact information. Another option to make friends is to look for a part-time job on campus or volunteer as a peer educator. Check with your major department about volunteer or peer educator opportunities.

Finally, I highly recommend living on campus during the first year. You will stay connected with college life, and the housing office provides lots of support to students. Be yourself and ask questions because you are embarking on one of the biggest adventures, which is college."
