Hi Tammy, it's wonderful to hear from you! I'm excited to provide you with some insights into the mental health perspective, as both Psychology and Nursing are indeed in the helping profession. Just so you know, during my time in Junior High School, Nursing was actually my second choice. However, the demand for nurses at that time was low, and I needed to quickly secure a job to support my family. But now, let's dive into your questions! 😊

1. When selecting my college program, I carefully researched job opportunities, finding that Psychology allowed me to work in various settings—educational, industrial, and clinical settings. I also considered the necessary skills and personality factors for success in this career. I worked as a psychometrician, counselor and clinical psychologist in my whole career.

2. The BS Psychology program usually takes four years, plus an additional year for the board examination.

3. My career journey has been full of fantastic experiences, teaching me a great deal about different aspects of Psychology. I've worked as a recruitment officer, testing supervisor, guidance counselor, Program Chair and Dean, Clinical Psychologist, and Life Coach. These experiences have all contributed significantly to my personal, interpersonal, and career growth.

4. As for pursuing a BS Nursing Program, further studies such as an MA or Ph.D. in Nursing can lead to incredible opportunities and career growth. If you envision yourself leading others in the future, obtaining an advanced degree would be an excellent starting point.

5. The program I enrolled in was BS Psychology.

6. I faced some challenges during my MA Psychology program, particularly with my thesis writing. However, after dedicating time and resources to improving my skills, I grew both mentally and emotionally and successfully finished my thesis within a year.

7. Both BS and MA Psychology programs include practical training as a requirement, with shadowing sessions supervised by licensed counselors and psychologists.

8. There are two major organizations in our field, one for counselors and one for psychologists.

9. Thesis writing was a challenging stage for me, requiring moments of pause and reflection, lots of reading, research, and hands-on experiments.

10. Some key skills for success in Psychology include adaptability, open-mindedness, research abilities, critical thinking, directing, planning, design, and teaching etc.

11. Working in the mental health field has a tremendous impact on helping others grow and flourish as individuals.

12. As mental health practitioners, our value is essential—we have a vital role to play in the community, especially during and after the pandemic, requiring continuous training to meet the growing needs.

13. Embrace your true self, set boundaries, and don't hesitate to seek help when needed. Learn to adapt to various situations and maintain an open and curious mind. Stay eager to learn and be open to absorbing new ideas and experiences.

I truly hope that my answers will help you on your journey towards becoming a caring professional in the future. Wishing you the very best of luck, and remember to always believe in yourself! 😊
