Hi Maddie!

I once did my undergrad in Industrial Engineering and now I’m doing my masters plus work.
For general organization tips: prioritize! I like to see my workload from a weekly view to see what needs to be prioritized and completed
For technical tips:
I have an iPhone so I like to use the apple calendar to set up reminders for deadlines and I tag them with the category. Life events, school, work, etc.

Hope that helps!

I would say to just focus on one thing at a time so that you do not become overwhelmed. Also, I have found that setting time blocks to accomplish certain assignments is very useful.

Hi Maddie. Good for you on thinking ahead!

One suggestion I will add to the awesome advice you have already received...do your best to jump on your assignments as soon as you can, especially in those classes that you might consider to be your least favorite. In general, the motivation to complete and do well on assignments for some classes can be low. If you can knock those out early, they become less of "ugh! i gotta get this done" and more of a "oh i'm so glad i got that done early".

In short, your time management skills will take you a long way to staying organized. Sometimes completing an assignment well can take longer than anticipated. Giving yourself that time will help not only with your grade on that assignment but also in learning the material.

Hope you find this answer helpful and best of luck to you!

I LIVE by my calendar. Look at your workload, determine the amount of time you need to be successful and break that commitment into manageable chunks of time. Getting involved with study groups or finding a likeminded classmate to find accountability goes far.

Take advantage of times when professor offer additional help and take advantage of resources the college offers.

Keep reminding yourself that the effort you put in now will have a direct impact on potential earnings and your success, long-term. Invest in yourself daily, because you are worth it!

An excellent method to achieve this is to gather all your necessary tasks and organize them in an Excel file. This will be a fantastic approach to monitor your advancement. As soon as you obtain your course outlines, make this your initial step to prepare yourself for success in the future.
