Hey Kadance! Good to know that deciding to get into dentistry. I am an International dentist in India, however I do know what it takes to be a dentist in the US. I think its a great field if you looking for a creative career in medicine. For you to get into dentistry you need to take some science courses as you prerequisites during your undergrad school, eventually you will be appearing for the entrance test, i.e DAT and after clearing you will finally apply to dental school. Side by side I would recommend to Volunteer , shadow a dentist, just so that you know how is dentistry overall as a field, moreover you will also have an idea whether you like the field or not. I hope this help, do reach out if you bave any other question. If I am not able to answer, I can always reach out to a dentist and let you know. All the best :)

Hey Kadance! Happy for your decision. I'm an Iranian specialist in dentistry. I just notice some tips which can help you to reach your goals.
Becoming a successful dentist typically involves completing a rigorous education and training program, gaining experience through internships or residencies, and developing strong communication and interpersonal skills. Here are some tips to help you on your journey:

1. Pursue a Bachelor's degree: Most dental schools require applicants to have completed a four-year undergraduate degree program.

2. Attend dental school: After completing your undergraduate degree, you will need to attend an accredited dental school program. Dental school typically takes four years to complete.

3. Gain experience through internships or residencies: Many dental schools offer internships or residencies that allow students to gain practical experience in a clinical setting.

4. Develop strong communication and interpersonal skills: As a dentist, you will need to be able to communicate effectively with patients and work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

5. Stay up-to-date with the latest advances in dentistry: Continuing education is essential for dentists who want to stay current with the latest techniques and technologies in the field.

6. Be prepared for the financial and time commitments involved: Dental school can be expensive and time-consuming, so it's important to be prepared for these challenges before embarking on this career path.
