The life of a pediatric surgeon can be very demanding but rewarding. It depends on the type of surgery you choose to do, but many pediatric surgeons sub specialize and operate on a specific area of the body. The hours can be long because different surgeries take different lengths of time, however, to be able to care for a child and their family during a time of need is a privilege. If you are someone who likes children, is passionate about helping people, and likes working with your hands, this may be a great career choice for you. When applying to college make sure you choose a place that offers the pre medical course requirements you will need for the medical school application process. Additionally, try to shadow a pediatric surgeon so you can see for yourself what their lives are like! Good luck!
