Filling out your FAFSA is the first step. Then it is necessary to focus on areas of ethnicity, (there is often a cultural option to search for scholarships, gender options in specific studies or family members who have served in the military). Writing a good essay is important for most applications and of course check the box on your Common App to be considered for all scholarship options. You can look for opportunities on FASTWEB.

Whether you need a little help or a lot, there are tons of opportunities available to help you cover the cost of your education. It may take a little extra research and hard work, but in the long run, it is absolutely worth it to avoid graduating college with the burden of heavy debt. Hello, Fastweb.com is a good site for scholarships. I reference so many students to apply for scholarship using this site. Most scholarships you have to write an essay and submit for approval. Scholarships are ready and available you just have to apply. Good Luck!

I have personally found the best results when going directly to the college of your choices website or by calling the university and asking them how to apply for scholarships. Many private universities have them available.
