Ike’s Answer

Definitely, getting commissioned in the Army after college is a viable option. As a Registered Nurse (RN), you have the opportunity to take the officer path and earn your commission as an officer in the medical corps, serving as an RN. To learn about the benefits and incentives of being an RN in the Army, check out this link: https://recruiting.army.mil/MRB_Nurses/.

Ike recommends the following next steps:

I would recommend visiting your local recruiting center for more information. They are not there just for enlistment opportunities but for both officers and enlisted personnel for active duty, Reserves, and/or National Guard.
Visit the Recruiting page: https://www.goarmy.com/careers-and-jobs/career-match/science-medicine/research/66b-public-health-nurse.html. You can also locate your nearest recruiter for additional information.

Martin’s Answer

Joining the military after earning your RN is typically as simple as reaching out to a recruiter who can connect you to the appropriate division. Most RNs enter as officers, often with a 4-year degree. If you have a 2-year degree, the process might be slightly different, but a local recruiter can guide you through it. They can provide invaluable assistance. You might even have the opportunity to get your college and related expenses covered by the military in exchange for your service as an active-duty nursing soldier. This could be an empowering way to further your career while serving your country and not incurring the cost of your education.

Ben’s Answer

ROTC (Reserve Officers' Training Corps) during college offers students the opportunity to receive military training and development while pursuing their education. It provides financial support through scholarships that cover tuition and fees, and students can also receive a monthly stipend. Participating in ROTC prepares students for future roles as officers (which is requirement in your field) in the military and offers various career opportunities upon graduation.
