The best way to find out what qualifications you will need for any position you desire, is to look at a job listing for that position. Go to the Disney careers website look at the imagineering positions available, determine which one(s) you would want and review the degree requirements.

Hi Evelyn,
I got the below link to give you an idea what Disney jobs are available today that are related to Imagineering. You can see that even non-engineers and non-architects are needed.

Hello Evelyn! As a former Imagineer, I can say that there is a broad range of backgrounds and disciplines, from mechanical engineering to architecture to construction engineering and project management, etc. So my answer would be do what you are passionate about and what you can excel at. If you're interested in engineering, there are also many different engineering disciplines within Imagineering such as software, mechanical, safety, civil, structural.
One critical way into Imagineering is through internships and the internships available will definitely be distilled down to the major areas of focus for the company, so I'd encourage you to look at those internships, see what are available. For example: here is a Mechanical Engineering Internship (https://jobs.disneycareers.com/job/lake-buena-vista/wdi-show-mechanical-engineering-intern-summer-fall-2025/391/76642036432) which has an educational requirement of "Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher attending an ABET accredited engineering program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or Engineering Mechanics. "
