How can I stay motivated when entering a competitive field?

Im 17 years old and a senior in high school. I plan on majoring in journalism and aspire to build a career in sports journalism. I deeply enjoy writing and reporting, however I'm nervous about constantly meeting deadlines and coming up with relevant content to write about. How can I stay motivated when I cant help but feel like I'm falling behind?
