I’m Mel Davis Pickett, and I’ve always believed in the power of guidance at the right moment. As a first-generation college student, I remember how overwhelming it felt to navigate big decisions without knowing what was possible or who to ask for help. Over time, mentors and opportunities helped me discover my path in science and leadership, and that experience shaped my commitment to helping others do the same.

Over the past decade, I’ve built a career in the biopharmaceutical industry leading teams, developing novel analytical strategies, and supporting life-changing therapies through clinical development. I’ve worked with organizations from early-stage startups to established biotech companies, focusing on solving complex challenges and mentoring the next generation of scientists and leaders.

Through my work and volunteering, I hope to give back by helping students build the skills, confidence, and curiosity to shape their own futures. I want young people to know they don’t have to have all the answers right now. Sometimes, all it takes is a little support and space to explore, dream, and take the next step forward.
