Hi Mary,
Based on my experience, in my high school days, I enjoyed studying and hanging out with my school/class mates., but in study style, I studied alone at home.
But in my uni days, i got more friends, not only within my class, but also mutual friends from different classes, even from other uni too. Main difference is to build network , and grow the circles, by studying as group session, doing projects together, or going for camping/trip with the group.
Those will give you great memories and will even help you in starting your own career. Building network means more opportunities for you to grow /start your professional life.
All the best & Have fun!
