What is the best way to prepare for a nursing interview as a new grad nurse wanting to go into a specific specialty? Certain questions to ask? Certain things to do? How to build a good resume?

Hi Madison,
Congratulations on your brand-new nursing career! Did you pass the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX)? Are you licensed and registered yet?
I would think getting experience is the most important thing right now. I see that your preference is in labor & delivery and NICU. If you check on Indeed, you'll see that many of them require at least 1 year of experience. Often BLS and NRP certifications are also required.
You can certainly focus on L&D or NICU positions, but I would recommend that you apply for any RN position, especially is you have a location preference to get 1 or 2 years of experience under your belt. If you can start in L&D, great. If not, maybe you can internally transfer to L&D later. If not, you can apply to another hospital with that experience under your belt in a year or two.
