How do I go about in finding internships/mentors in my field(Criminal Justice) Should I just do a quick search and see if I find anything on the internet or should I perhaps go to a workplace and see if they could offer me any advice/knowledge??
Im only a sophomore in college but I'm very interested in starting to get a head-start on an internship during me next semester. I would be happy with even a mentor just to to get a feeling of the atmosphere and perhaps start building connections for the future.

Crystal,
Depending on what field you're interested in (prosecution, defense, law enforcement, etc), it'll depend on where to look for internships. You can contact those agencies directly (DA's office, public defenders office, local or state police agencies, etc).
As far as mentorships, I would think at least some of your college instructors were formerly in the criminal justice fields. I would inquire with some of those contacts for more information.
If you are looking to get a feel for what its like to be in law enforcement, my career spanned a wide variety of areas in police work (road patrol, narcotics, SWAT, FTO, investigations, supervision, IA, etc). Feel free to reach out directly if you'd like to learn more about police work from my experience and point of view.
Best of luck!

Hi Crystal!
Reach out to your schools career counselors and if you are not sure how to do that, ask any employee/ professor you know and they should be able to point you in the right direction. If you don't feel comfortable, student athletes and members of organizations like Student Government and Orientation team leaders will also likely have helpful information. Most schools have services that help connect students and grads with organizations and companies needing employees/ interns/ volunteers.
You can also, search LinkedIn, Reddit, and other social media sites for networking events, groups, and posts. Even if you do not feel comfortable venturing out in person or joining, you can look through the member lists and often can see where people are working to help identify target companies and organizations.
Best of luck!!
