Is it better to start strong and add both majors and the minor I am interested in or should I wait and add my second major and minor my sophomore year?

I am interested in majoring in Psychology and Social work and minoring in child studies and youth development.

It depends on how much you can handle and how confident you feel. If you're sure about your interests and can manage the workload, it's fine to start with both majors and a minor. Remember, though, your first year is about getting used to college, figuring out study habits, and finding balance.

Usually, I suggest focusing on your main major first. Get used to your classes and schedule, then think about adding a second major or minor in your sophomore year. This way, you won't overwhelm yourself early on and have time to see if those subjects are the right fit for you.

You're not behind. Just manage your time and energy wisely.

Hello, and great question. I would encourage you to pick one and the minor or just pick one major. They all share similar courses and they tend to overlap material. The difference come in when it comes to what work options. For example, if you want to go into Social work, some schools have a BSW to MSW program that is cohesive. You can still get your PhD or Psyd in psychology, DSW or PhD in Counseling Education amd Supervision. Again, depends on what your goal is.
