Looking for a summer job/internship!

Hello, my name is Arshpreet and I am currently a senior in high school in NYC. I am looking for a paid summer internship or job that is related to marketing, business, outreach, receptionist, assistant, or anything else. I am open to connect and talk more about any possible opportunities. If you know about any summer internship or jobs available for current high school senior/rising freshman in college, I would really appreciate it if you let me know!

I have applied and searched for so many jobs all over the internet (yes I used LinkedIn and Indeed) but so far it's not working out :(

Thank you in advance!

Contact the following organizations
regarding paid internships! Junior Achievement (they offer the SYEP program), NAF (the National Academy Foundation); as one of their school partners I took my students on trips to media companies culminating in internships and years later industry jobs; and SEO (Sponsors for Educational Opportunity). The latter organization works with many major companies, provides great networking opportunities and contacts!!!

Hi! One thing that surprised me when I started looking for internships is how early they post. Many internships at the collegiate level begin posting in September. Administrative Assistant positions may be something to add to your keyword search.

To echo what Rachel said, Remember that sometimes it's a matter of making the most of the position you get to for future opportunities. For example, you may not want to work in the mail room but that type of role could give you access to more people that you can try to build a network with.

Hey Arsh! Its so awesome that you are looking for opportunities to learn and grow as a rising College Freshman.

From personal experience, internships that would be posted on a LinkedIn or Indeed generally are not open to individuals that have not completed at least one year of college, usually 2.

However, I think if you strip away the 'internship' title, there are lots of companies who would potentially hire a receptionist or assistant role for the summer! I would recommend checking with local small businesses in your community that may be looking for part time assistance, or reaching out to non-profits in your community that may be looking for part-time paid help.

I would keep in mind that even if it doesn't feel like the most relevant job to build your career, every role is an opportunity to build a unique skillset, work with others, and understand new things about the world and yourself.
