What kinds of internships are available around Napoleon, Ohio, for those wanting to go into the business management and human resource field?

I am a senior in high school, going to college this fall. I have retail work experience, many babysitting jobs, and am very involved in school clubs and programs.

Hey Elizabeth! It’s awesome that you’re planning for your future in business management and human resources. So, here is a number of things which I hope helps.

1. Many small businesses are open to interns, especially in fields like human resources and management. Check out local companies in Napoleon or nearby areas like Findlay or Toledo. They may offer internships where you can assist with HR tasks, customer service, or business operations.

2. Since you already have retail experience, you might find internships with larger retail companies or chain stores that have management internship programs. This could be a great way to build your business management skills while applying your existing experience.

3. Many nonprofits are looking for interns to help with administrative tasks, fundraising, and managing human resources. These internships can give you hands-on experience in HR and organizational management.

4. While some larger companies may not be based directly in Napoleon, companies in nearby cities like Toledo or Fort Wayne may offer remote or local internships in HR or business management. Companies like Walmart, Amazon, or local branches of insurance companies might have positions for students interested in these fields.

5.Since you’re going to college this fall, check with your school’s career center for internship opportunities. Many universities have partnerships with businesses that offer internships specifically for students in business management.

6. If you can’t find something local right away, many companies offer virtual internships in business management and HR. These can give you exposure to real-world business practices while you’re still in school.

Elizabeth, since you’re already involved in clubs and have work experience, make sure to highlight your leadership skills and ability to manage tasks and people. These are great qualities that can make you stand out to potential internship providers. Best of luck dear and go crush it out there.

There are lots of opportunities for jobs that will give you great future opportunities in HR or Business management, any type of customer service roles provide great experience and transferable skills. Also entry level administrative roles, some great places to look for summer roles are universities, government offices and consulting firms which all often offer summer roles. If your looking for something part time consider a reception role at a car dealership or a gym or spa which will give you both customer service and administration!
