Most fast food or retail employers are seeking skills such as great with people equals great customer service, good with handling money equals cashier, time management equals I will show up on time as scheduled. These are just a few examples that are good no matter what industry or job type.

In my experience, it's people skills and time management. When things get busy in food service it can be a lot to handle, so being able to stay cool under the pressure of a lunch or dinner rush is important. at the end of the day don't stress too much about it, these are entry level jobs that are for teaching you those skills listed above. as long as you have some baseline in them (like being able to talk to people or using timers, you should be fine) good luck and make sure you take the time to enjoy high school, you only do it once!

Skills that catch the eye of employers in the fast-food industry include:
1) Being efficient and organized, which helps make tasks smoother and faster.
2) Managing your time well and working quickly without losing the quality of your work.
3) Providing excellent customer service by communicating clearly with both customers and colleagues, and solving problems. Handling customer complaints calmly and effectively is important.
4) Teamwork, being ready to help your teammates to create a friendly and supportive work environment.
Remember to be kind to yourself. Mistakes are part of learning a new role, and what matters most is how you handle and learn from them. Best of luck in all your efforts!

Hi Xyza! Great question, most employers will list the qualifications they are looking for on their applications. In general, they are mostly looking for someone who is reliable, trustworthy, team-oriented and good at multi-tasking since it can be a fast-paced environment.
