College is a time to find balance and focus on what's important. You don't have to isolate yourself, nor do you need to party all the time. It's about finding the right mix and setting your priorities straight. By becoming efficient with your study habits, you can ensure you get your work done while still enjoying life and making new friends. Mastering this balance now will equip you with lifelong skills.
Remember, college isn't as daunting as it seems. It's about being purposeful in your actions and developing methods to learn effectively. Enjoy social activities in moderation and keep your main objectives in sight. You've got this!

Thank you for your question. Many students have similar question. The most important is to build good study habits. You need a time management tool to help, eg Google Calendar, MS Outlook, phone calendar, etc
Below are my suggestions:
1. Put down the time you need to attend classes
2. Assign some time every day on your assignment, projects, etc. Don't be a deadline fighter.
3. Review the material covered in the class on the day. If you have any questions, ask the tutor in the next tutorial
4..Make sure you have enough sleep and do some exercise
5. Allocate more time for revision before assessment
6. Firm study groups with your classmates that can help you deepen the understanding on the material
Hope this helps! Good luck!
May Almighty God bless you!

Xavier;
What are your current habits to balance the need to do homework and sports or hanging out with friends and family? You have stated that academics has always been important to you, so you probably already have some skills to balance study time and social time.
As Alex states college will just be a challenge to enhance those skills, as you won't have teachers and parents reminding you of deadlines. I would suggest that your first semester you get a student planner. Schedule your days, leaving time for breaks, and social interactions as well as study time. Remember you need to schedule time for cooking meals, going to the cafeteria, or eating out. Additionally, laundry. These may be challenges dependent on your circumstances, maybe you have to coordinate with someone who has a car or get an Uber/ Lyft.
Know that even then your schedule has to be fluid. There will be times when a particularly dauting class means sacrificing some social time. But then there will also be times when you are comfortable with the subject matter and can turn a study session into a game of frisbee on the lawn with your friends (or whatever youth do today/ gosh that makes me feel old)
This is an experience and something you want to remember fondly. Enjoy! Experience all life has to offer! Keep your ultimate goals in mind!
