College Foundations connect many of their scholarships to specific subjects, activities, majors, ethnicities and classifications.
You might find scholarships for students who are first generation college students (neither parent has a college degree), students who are focusing their major on teaching, engineering or radiology, or students who might be hispanic in ethnicity.
Most of the time potential applicants can find nearly anything that fits into a classification or subject that defines them or their future goals.
All colleges and universities have foundations that offer scholarships. I would log into the college or university website and research the ones which apply to you and your particular interests.

Hello- I strongly recommend reaching out to two support resources for guidance: 1) Your admissions office at the institution you're pursuing 2) the career counseling support center. You will want to request to speak with someone who can share what is available to you, given your profile which you should have the opportunity to share. There are lots of options at federal, state and local levels for aid- Some are scholarships, some are aid. I would be open to being creative to all options available. When I went through college, I used a variety of aid and scholarships to be able to afford tuition and every little bit helped. It can help you too!

Hey Maame,
Here is a chatgpt prompt that you can use to search for your specific case. I recommend using it as it can find some personalized results based on anything available on the internet: "I’m an incoming undergraduate student planning to major in Chemical Engineering (or a related STEM field). Please search the internet and give me specific scholarships I can apply for, including (1) scholarships for chemical engineering/STEM majors, (2) school-specific merit or departmental scholarships, (3) state or regional programs, and (4) national or external scholarships. Include eligibility criteria, award amounts if available, and deadlines. Also, share strategies to improve my chances of winning these scholarships."
My details (use these to tailor your answer):
GPA: [___]
SAT/ACT (if available): [___]
State of residency: [___]
Academic interests: [___]
Extracurriculars / leadership / volunteer work: [___]
Any demographics I might qualify under (first-gen, minority, military family, etc.): [___]

Hello again, Maame !
It would be hard to refer you to scholarships right now because you are applying to several colleges in the UK as well as several colleges in other countries. Once you know where you will be going to college, you can know which scholarships you would qualify for.
In general, the university that you end up attending usually offers their students scholarships. Also, companies/corporations connected to Chemical Engineering sometimes offer scholarships. It's going to depend on where you attend college - which country.
Also go to Scholarship websites and do a search for scholarships for foreign students from Ghana. There are not only scholarships based on STEM, you may also qualify for scholarships that are merit based or for those in financial need. Like I said, it's going to depend on the country and university that you decide to attend since you're applying for many universities in many countries.
Once you have chosen and have been accepted at a specific university in a particular country, go to some scholarship websites and read the information, see which ones you qualify for and then apply. There are websites such as Scholarships, and you can do an internet search for scholarships pertaining to the country, your major and specific circumstances. Also find out how student financial aid works at the university you end up going to. There are many scholarships with different criteria and qualification factors so this does take time reading and searching for the ones that pertain to you.
I know this isn't a specific referral to some scholarships, but once you know the specifics of your university and its' location, it will be easier to pinpoint specific scholarships that are worthwhile to apply for. Best wishes in all you do !

Hi Maame,
I assume you’re looking for opportunities in Ghana, given that your location is listed in Greater Accra. Here are a few options worth exploring. For undergraduate studies in Chemical Engineering or other STEM fields, you can look into the Ghana Scholarship Secretariat and GETFund, both of which support students in public universities. There are also corporate scholarships like the MTN Bright Scholarship, GNPC Foundation Scholarship, and Tullow STEM Scholarships, which cover tuition, accommodation, and more. If you're applying to the University of Ghana or KNUST, the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is a top choice, as it fully funds outstanding students, especially those in STEM. Be sure to prepare a strong academic record, personal statement, and apply early to give yourself the best chance.
