I commend you on your awareness of future goals and motivation to gain a higher education. Nursing school is a very competitive field and knowing what you want will serve you well. A pre-licensure (also called entry-level) Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a four-year program that is designed for students who do not hold a state nursing license and have no prior nursing experience or education. Upon graduation from a pre-licensure BSN program, students are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN and apply for an Registered Nurse (RN) license through their state’s Board of Nursing. Go to university nursing school websites and invertigate application requirements. Make notice of all due dates and make sure you submit all documents re quested. Some schools are more difficult to get into then others. You may want to inquire about admission rates and waiting lists. University websites are very helpful and may provide information on open houses or informational sessions. Good luck.
