The future of responsible technology lies in what I call "second-order thinking at scale." Most teams stop at first-order effects: does this feature work? Does it solve the immediate problem? But we need to routinely ask second and third-order questions: If 2 billion people use this feature, what new human behaviors will emerge? What will society look like when an entire generation grows up with this as their baseline reality? Our role is to understand how clients use our tech now and foresee what they might need in the future, ensuring we don't create obstacles for them. Regarding privacy, only gather what is necessary. If something isn't needed, don't collect it. This follows the principle of least privilege. Users should have access only to what's essential, and software should only gather what's required. If nothing is needed, that's perfectly fine.
