What is the biggest struggle being an environmental police officer?
Im a 17 year old senior planningto study Enviromental science in college with the hopes of being an environmental police officer. Throughout talking to numerous current EPO's I've heard so many great things but I am still wondering what some of the struggles are.

Landon, you might want to check out the wildlife enforcement web pages for states you might be interested in working in. I don't believe you actually need an environmental sciences degree for this. Many states have their own programs to train wildlife enforcement officers.
Just like other law enforcement jobs, challenges include dealing with people who might not know or respect the laws, and some are even carrying weapons which might change their normal interactions. If you decide to get a degree in environmental sciences, you'll have more chances to work on enforcing environmental laws in different areas, not just parks or wildlife. Hope this helps!

That's a good question. Job stability and funding are big concerns for people in the environmental field. If the current President doesn't support funding for environmental issues, you might not get the federal money needed for your work or job. This can change with each new administration.
