I am interested in attending a university for nursing. What are some things I can do now to better prepare myself for nursing school #Fall25?
I am interested in specializing in the NICU, Pediatrics, or ER.

You are looking at some pretty intense areas of work and I applaud you for that. I would first do a self evaluation on your ability to focus under pressure, which area of nursing seems to call to you most and check with area hospitals or nursing schools for opportunities to do job shadowing before starting nursing school. Not knowing what your educational background is, I'd also suggest that you make sure that you focus on sciences, math, and psychology/sociology courses. If there is an opportunity to be a Nursing Assistant or some other job in a healthcare setting, you would be able to see nurses in action and be able to ask advice as well. Best of luck!

I recommend everyone interested in medicine work as a medical scribe. The amount of information required to be memorized is unbelievable. I'm not fast at memorizing. If you work as a medical scribe, you start to learn the language of medicine. You hear common diagnoses. It will make your time in nursing school easier. Unfortunately, AI is probably going to take over a lot of the scribing jobs.
