I have worked for large and small corporations, and my best experiences were working with small startups. They provide a better mentoring environment, and you get thrown into the mix knee deep where you learn in a real world environment. Want to excel?? Start with small, dedicated startups.

Dear Nehemiah,

Thanks for your question .

The definition of a good company varies from person to person , but if you want a work life balance, then you should do some research about it and make a decision later on as things in all the companies are changing. You can see people's opinion on many sites where Employees review their Employer. You will get a fair idea that way.

We are in a phase where most companies are trying to see what they can learn from the other and the work culture is becoming more of the same every where .

I think there are a lot of Azure and AWS free courses online, you should try to learn from them , I would say , don't spend any money at this point on a big course. Also the technology changes all the time, so focus on your Bachelor's and try to get an Internship in a company where you can learn stuff.

There is only so much you can prepare as in Software / Technology , as things become obsolete very quickly. If you learn the basics well , then the rest you learn while you start working.

Hope this helps !

Thanks and Regards,
Jerin

Leading companies in the cloud industry include AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, and Alibaba Cloud, along with tech giants like Meta, Apple, and Netflix. These companies offer vast infrastructure and cutting-edge tools. To start a career in cloud computing, focus on learning Python, operating systems, Linux, networking, and databases. Get hands-on experience with free cloud tiers or virtual platforms like CloudLearn.io, CloudLabs.ai, DigitalCloud.training, and Google Cloud Qwiklabs. Use CloudSim for practice projects. Try building small projects like static websites, serverless apps, or containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes. Consider beginner certifications like AWS Cloud Practitioner or Azure Fundamentals.

Join online communities to learn and network. On LinkedIn, groups such as AWS Cloud Professionals, Microsoft Azure Network, Google Cloud Community, and Cloud Computing & DevOps offer tutorials, webinars, and job opportunities. On Discord, servers like Cloud Computing, AWS Study Group, and DevOps & Cloud Community provide discussions and study sessions. Reddit subreddits like r/cloudcomputing, r/AWS, r/Azure, r/googlecloud, r/devops, and r/sysadmin are great for questions and updates. Stack Overflow tags like aws, azure, google-cloud-platform, and cloud-computing offer expert advice.

Build a portfolio to showcase your work and create a strong online presence. Participate in hackathons, internships, or volunteer opportunities, and take courses in operating systems, networking, data structures, algorithms, databases, and cloud computing. Stay updated with industry trends, think creatively, communicate well, and document your work thoroughly. By doing so, you'll gain the skills and experience needed for a successful career in cloud computing.

Hi,

Top few companies I would think is AWS(Amazon), Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Meta, and these days any tech company like IOT technologies or even small ones uses cloud computing. You can still join any of the tech companies and learn and contribute a lot in the cloud computing area.

Few places I would go to learn is simple and basic YouTube, LinkedIn learning, udemy.com, courseera.com, MIT open free courses, Google.com, online communities like slack, product hunt. These are some amazing sites where you can get tons of info on what's going on new in this field and also would learn the basics and what has been done in cloud computing in recent past.

Hope this helps and Goodluck in your endeavors. Thanks n Regards Sweata
