Can I be a teacher and own a salon at the same time?

I have always loved doing hair, makeup, and nails since I was a child. I've also always loved to pretend I'm teaching a class when I study. I took cosmetology and loves it in highschool and Im now planning to attend college to be a teacher. I'm so excited to work in a salon. I hope to open a salon one day called the retro or retro because I love 80s vibes but I also love western vibes so I might go with western cuts or something I'm not sure yet.

Hello Susan, it so excited to read your wonderful dreams and truly hope they'll be a success. To answer to your question: the answer is Yes. You can be both a teacher and a salon owner. Many educators successfully run businesses by structuring their involvement strategically. If you build the salon with systems and personnel who can operate independently, you can pursue both careers without sacrificing your well-being.

It's possible! Have you considered teaching cosmetology? This way, you can combine your interests.
Thank you comment icon Hey, thank you so much for answering my question, and yes I have thought about that actually but I'm not for sure what I would have to do to go about becoming a cosmetology teacher. Susan
