How can a high school senior prepare for pursing neuroscience research in college?

I am interested in researching possible treatments and medicine to manage diseases such as Alzheimer's or Glioblastomas. I want to do research both professionally and as a student in college but I'm not quite sure where to start and what resources to look at so I can learn more about achieving my future career goals.

Always start with the end in mind. Find out at what companies or institutions conduct the type of research you are interested in doing. Identify the sponsors. Next discover what programs/schools they predominately recruit from. Learn everything you can about those programs and schools offerings. If you are in high school, apply for their summer programs, etc. Make visits if possible. Try using AI and Google to help with identifying the various research entities.
