Katie’s Answer
When I got my degree more than 20 years ago, we were required to take several chemistry courses including organic and physical chemistry. We also took a year of physics and entry level courses in the other engineering disciplines.

You need to UNDERSTAND math! Especially multivariable calculus! But what matters early on is really understanding the math you take, not taking as much of it as possible. Chemistry and physics are also very helpful, but understand that chemical engineering is NOT chemistry, and a lot of it (like calculating flow in tubes and pump sizing) has almost nothing to do with chemicals. I assume you are in high school so take as much math and science as your school offers
On the math side a strong basis in algebra is essential and if you can get calculus great
On the science side obviously chemistry and advanced chemistry and physics are essential Good luck

Chemistry, but you will need a strong mathematical base; Calculus and if available Linear Algebra.
