With the right blend of soft skills and technical skills, it's one of the best paths you can take with your interest in Finance. Here are a few suggestions -

Financial Analysis & Modelling: Develop strong skills in financial statement analysis, Excel modeling, and tools like Power BI or Tableau to interpret data and support decision making.

Technical Knowledge: Gain proficiency in accounting principles, corporate finance, investment analysis, and familiarize yourself with finance software such as SAP, QuickBooks.

Certifications: Consider pursuing relevant certifications like CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), CFP (Certified Financial Planner), or FRM (Financial Risk Manager) for specialized knowledge and credibility.

Soft Skills & Networking: Continue improving communication skills and also focus on leadership, teamwork, and networking by attending finance seminars, webinars, or joining finance clubs and professional groups.

Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends in finance, such as fintech innovations, sustainability finance, and regulatory changes to stay competitive and adaptable in the evolving industry.

Zandy Yeukai’s Answer

Hi Harshdeep,
If you’re a BBA student who wants to grow your career in the finance sector in 2026, you should focus on building strong financial knowledge, especially understanding financial statements, budgeting, and investment basics. Developing advanced Excel skills and learning financial modeling will give you a big advantage. You should also improve your analytical thinking so you can interpret data and make smart financial decisions. Since you’re already working on communication skills and enrolling in finance courses, that’s a great start, just make sure you also gain practical experience through internships or entry-level roles. Consider professional certifications like CFA or ACCA if they align with your goals. Finally, build your professional network and stay updated with industry trends, because in finance, skills plus experience and connections create real career growth.
