For those who went to a post-graduate school/degree, what was something about the process which they regretted?

I am a high school junior, and since I don't really know anyone who actually obtained a post-graduate education, I don't know anything about the process and what things are good to do and what things I shouldn't do. I also think that learning from mistakes is a very useful thing to do, whether they're mine or others', so I'm just curious: for people who had a post-graduate education, what was something they regretted? Anything like maybe gap years, something as a post-grad, something as a undergrad, anything.

I think the best route, or at least what I did was that I worked for several years before going to grad school. When I finally found an area that interested me because of my work experience, in my case education, I could use my experience to write my statement of purpose 0 the essay required for the application process. I know that some schools actually require at least two years work experience before applying - especially top school MBA programs. Otherwise, testing; GRE or GMAT may be required. For my program the Millers Analogy test was what I could take and was an accepted test.

I have no regrets about grad school. One of the things I find interesting is that in my position no one asks about where I did my undergrad studies, but where I did my M.Ed.

So, in short, do a grad program in something you are really interested in. Don't just do it because it sounds like a good idea. You will get much more out of the program.
