Steward "Tony"’s Answer

What’s happening with many on the job market today is a major reflecting of decisions they made while in HS as well as early in college.

Many now regret the studies performed, jobs that they currently have, careers that they chose, money they make & loans they now must pay back. They are stuck in a grind because in the real world, the system expects results. Everyone does not get a 🏆

What I believe after 40 years in Business, Technical, Leadership, & Head Hunting at a senior level is focusing of the enjoyment of the career you select.

Degree or not, people who are happy with their lives do so many things to live because of enjoyment.

All work and no play makes one a dull person, but doing something that you enjoy for a career? Well if you have that, you’ll never work a day in your life.

I have had a great life because I enjoy the hunt for opportunity. Some of what I see today is a people who count too much on automation & AI to make their decisions. Technology can’t not decide what is going to make you happy.

Sit back and write down all the things that you would enjoy doing. Be Honest because a life’s purpose is a terrible thing to waste

Vianne’s Answer

Students sometimes focus too much on grades and not enough on developing real skills. While good grades are important, skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving are also crucial in the real world. Participating in clubs, volunteering, or getting a part-time job can help you build these skills while still in school.

Another common mistake is comparing yourself to others. Everyone progresses at their own pace, and what works for one person might not be right for you. Worrying too much about others can distract you from your own goals and interests.

It's also important not to be afraid of trying new things. People often stick to what feels safe instead of exploring new opportunities. Trying different activities, classes, or experiences can help you find what you enjoy and what you might want to pursue in the future.

Daniel’s Answer

I believe students should stop overthinking and start trusting themselves. Life can be challenging, but even on the hardest days, better ones are ahead. Take time to discover what you are truly passionate about, because when you know what you love, you have a powerful reason to keep moving forward.
Never be afraid to ask questions (not only professional ones) but also questions about life. Learning comes from curiosity. Talk to your teachers, mentors, or someone you trust; guidance can make a big difference in your journey.
Most importantly, don’t give up when things get tough. Challenges are a natural part of growth and learning. Keep pushing forward, believe in yourself, and remember that you are capable of achieving great things.

Mónica Alexandra’s Answer

From my own experience, I used to think I could worry about my future later, but I realized starting early makes things less stressful and gives you more opportunities. Students should also avoid focusing only on classes and grades without trying to learn new skills or gain real experience. I noticed that when I joined workshops and practical projects, I learned much more than from classes alone.
Another common mistake is not asking questions or seeking help. At first, I was afraid of asking questions because I did not want to seem unprepared, but asking teachers and mentors helped me understand my goals better. Finally, students should avoid giving up when things become challenging. I have faced moments where learning something new felt difficult, but continuing and staying patient helped me improve and gain confidence.

Gus’s Answer

I think students will focus too much on the end-results vs. the steps that it takes to get into that position. This can lead to goals seeming "impossible" given the multitude of actions required to achieve them. I always recommend breaking stretch goals into miniature "action goals" that will 1) allow you to see progress on your goals and 2) reassess at each stage if you would like to continue on your initial path or move in a different direction.

Ricardo’s Answer

Hi, Kyle!
I believe it’s very important to set realistic goals. Sometimes, when you want to achieve a big objective, a great approach is to break it down into smaller goals. This makes them easier to manage and allows you to tackle each step more effectively.
