What does it mean to be consistent? and how can I achieve it?

I've recently returned from Egypt (studied abroad to learn Arabic) and I've been having trouble staying consistent with my actions. What advice would you give?

Thank you comment icon Hi Senih! To me, consistency means showing up even when you don’t feel motivated. What helped me is lowering the pressure. Instead of trying to do everything, I focus on small, repeatable actions each day. For example, even 30 minutes of focused work is better than waiting for the “perfect” time. For time wasters, I try to create friction. I’ll put my phone away, use website blockers, or set a timer where I can’t check anything until it’s done. It’s less about discipline and more about setting up your environment to help you. You don’t need to be perfect, just consistent enough to keep moving forward! Niki

Congrats. on your studying abroad. That experience is one you will probably never forget.

To be more consistent, try keeping notes, on your phone, laptop or whatever works for you, on things you need to get done each day. It also can help if you keep things in the same place so you always know where to look for them. Being consistent, can also demonstrate that you are dependable, so a good trait to develop.

With every good wish and many blessings,
Karen
