Hi Savannah,
The steps I took to balance academics, working, and social life was building a routine. I would set aside an hour to complete homework with no distractions. Also, write things down, use a calendar or planner to keep things organized. When you are feeling overwhelmed, take 20 minute breaks and break the assignment down.

Hi Savannah,

Congrats on almost finishing your first year! That is usually one of the toughest stretches, so getting this far is a really big deal!

Also, everyone organizes their time differently, so try a couple of systems and see what fits your style. Calendars and planners are both great tools (I prefer my phone calendar, because it's one less thing to keep up with). Start by scheduling the “have to dos” like class time, studying, work, and sleep. Then add the “nice to haves” like time with friends, scrolling, hobbies, and rest. It also helps to build in the basics that keep you functioning, like sunlight, water, and movement/exercise.

I'm also a fan of block scheduling and breaking things into small and manageable sections. For example, a 60-minute block could look like this:
• 5 minutes to leave class and settle somewhere
• 10 minutes to eat
• 20 minutes for a quick nap or reset
• 20 minutes of focused studying
• 5 to 10 minutes to wrap up and walk to your next class

For note taking, the Cornell method is a solid option. It helps you summarize your notes clearly, and then you can spend a few minutes each day reviewing those summaries instead of rereading everything.

I hope this helps. You are doing great! Keep going!

Rebecca’s Answer

Thank you for your question. Firstly, you need to find a time management to help, e.g. MS Outlook, Google Calendar, Phone Calendar, etc.
Below are my suggestions :
1. Put down the time you need to attend the classes
2. Assign some time every day on your assignment & projects. Review the material covered in the class on day. If you have any question, ask the teacher on the next school day.
3. Make sure you have enough time to sleep and do some exercise
4. Allocate some time on weekends for your leisure and friends & family gathering
5. You may need to assign more time for revision early before your assessment
Hope this helps! Good Luck!
May Almighty God bless you!
