What careers can you work in with a Master's Degree in Kinesiology?

What certifications would be required for a career past getting a Master's Degree in Kinesiology? Is there a general certification? Do you have to decide which career path you want to pursue while getting your bachelor's degree?

David, this topic is close to my heart because I have a Bachelor's in Education with a minor in Exercise Science. I dreamed of becoming an athletic trainer for a college or professional team. I had internships during and after college but soon realized how tough it was to break into the field. It felt like climbing a steep hill. I applied for a personal trainer job in New York, but my resume ended up in DC for a security analyst position, a field I knew nothing about. I needed a job, so I took it and used my exercise science background in local fitness centers, adding new certifications along the way. Now, years later, I'm still in consulting. Even though my degree didn't directly shape my career, it changed how I live and opened doors to a new path. My advice is to figure out what you want to do with your degree and start gaining experience through internships or volunteering. But stay open to unexpected opportunities. Best of luck!
