It all depends on how you are with math, if you do really well with math and excel in it, it might be more challenging but not something to worry about. If you're someone like me who really struggles with math, it will definitely be difficult, I am dyslexic, but it doesn't affect my reading as much as it does with numbers so math has always been really hard for me. It really depends on how you are with math, but it definitely isn't something to worry about most schools have levels to math classes so if you struggle you can be put into one of the lower ones where you can get lots of help but there are also after school math tutoring or help centers.

Andrew’s Answer

Mathematics is a symbolic and logical language, in that proficiency and competency are to be acquired in stages. Even though it is a “foreign” language for most of us, the approach in learning it is not that different from that of any natural languages such as English or Spanish. The key is practice, practice, and more practice.

Hence, it is imperative that we build a solid foundation in our math education at every level. With a sold foundation, the next level should not be too difficult. Sure, it will take work, but it should be manageable.

Shelby’s Answer

Math certainly is different in high-school compared to middle-school. However, this is not something you must be anxious about! The thing with high-school mathematics is that it branches further into different subtypes of math rather than the general overview you may have experienced in prior years. In any case, think of it the same way that you feel learning a new type of math every semester, there are going to be things you have no experience with. It is up to you to decide which math classes you may want to take, AP calculus will not be the same as a standard class. It is all about knowing your limits and deciding which class is best for you. Overall, do not worry about the difficulty of the topic, you will do just great!

Don’s Answer

Math is always just math, if you learned it well and enjoyed it, then it will just gets better and better. You start to deal with concepts and ideas that are new and exciting. They build on each other. Important part is making sure you have the basic rules and concepts down, as they help you with the more advanced math. I found that just having your multiplication tables down and taking the time to memorize the new formulas, really makes a difference. Make sure you organize your work and step through, and you will be GREAT!!!
